Open Box cables are in like-new condition and may not include the original packaging.
NOTE: If you have a Model 1 Genesis or Master System, you require an adapter to use this cable. That adapter is available for purchase separately
Genesis 3 owners: The Genesis 3 only outputs mono audio through the left channel, so it can be a bit tricky to hook up using the Genesis YPbPr cable. Leave the red (right) audio cable on the YPbPr cable disconnected, then take the white (left) audio cable and hook it up to the input of an RCA splitter (Y) cable such as this or this. Use the white and red split on the other end of the splitter to connect into your TV, audio system, or other device. This ensures that you receive the mono audio out of both speaker channels on your equipment.
Your television or display must be able to support "240p" video over YPbPr to use this product. Please test your specific equipment using this simple test procedure. This test should be run for each console with which you wish to use with the cables.
I got this with the PSX adapter for use on a 36" Toshiba CRT. The quality difference between it and the stock composite cables is quite dramatic.
The S-Video link between the PSX adapter and this cable is very short/unsecure. It's very easy for them to partially or completely disconnect. I'll probably have to shore it up with some electrical tape or something.
Shipping speed left a lot to be desired. It should not take 2 weeks to get a cable from WA to NC.
It's pretty pricey, but it is also a major improvement in picture quality.
It is pricey but it is money well spent. Got a couple for my psx and Saturn - haven’t looked back.
Thank you Rondo Products for selling me this HD Retrovision component video cable on eBay! Now my SEGA Genesis games can look their very best on my CRT television! I should have been trying component cables long ago! This is a sturdy, well-reinforced and durable cable with solid connection. It's exactly what I was hoping for and is quality. Pixel perfection for the Sega Genesis.
Thanks to Retrotink and g comp, I could use this cable without compatibility worries. Best I've ever seen Genesis games.
I had no idea that these old systems could have such a clear picture!
